http:/ / en-us/ download/ details.aspx? id=25175 Not sure about the process for capturing OEM images as we use VL media here.Īlso, you might look at MDT 2012 to capture and deploy your images. Won't try to pick it up if it wasn't sysprep'd thou.
I've never dealt with the new 8 OEM keys, but they are stored on the motherboard somewhere. I really wanted to ship them all back and make them re-image them, but you know, time is money, and we really needed those machines ASAP.ĭid you sysprep before you made the image? Sidenote: I like Lenovo, but issues like this could be handled a little better than "wipe it and start again", I mean, If they imaged the machines properly before shipping, we would not have had this issue. Now, perhaps the correct avenue to take from here is to mention it to Microsoft and have them investigate lenovo.? (if they really want to).
So, it looks like they sold us a volume license key. Only after looking at all keys from the last batch of machines, I realized they all had the same key, from the factory. (without re-imaging or installing - I just plugged in the new key into the Activation Wizard) It worked well and the message has not re-appeared. I used a key from the last batch of lenovo workstations we got. Well, we wiped one and re-installed with their $30.00 disc, again, we got the same message about it being counterfeit. We called Lenovo, went over all of the details, and their solution was to wipe it and start again. This may be a "grey" answer, but it works.
Its lenovo, I just had this issue with a bunch of machines we purchased.
